Rajan sidesteps question on RBI future
Reserve Bank of India holds policy rate at 6.5% after inflation surprise
Raghuram Rajan deflected questions on his future as governor of the Reserve Bank of India today (June 7), after holding the policy rate at 6.5%.
Rajan will complete his three-year term as governor in September, and it is unclear whether he will be offered, or accept, reappointment.
"A decision is reached after discussion between the government and the incumbent. I am sure you will know when there is news," he said in a press conference today.
