BoE governor called to testify on EU referendum
Mark Carney experienced a turbulent hearing with UK politicians today (March 8), as he refused to pick a side in the debate over membership of the European Union.
The Bank of England (BoE) governor was grilled by members of the Treasury Select Committee on whether the bank was taking a stance on the issue. At one point, some MPs called into question its independence and his reputation.
