Financial stability reports (FSRs) will become "a lot more important" in the coming years, according to Marcel Fratzscher, president of the German Institute for Economic Research and co-author of new research on central bank communications.

In Central Bank Communication on Financial Stability, published in the latest Economic Journal, Benjamin Born, Michael Ehrmann and Marcel Fratzscher investigate how different forms of communication about financial stability impact stock indexes.

They find
