Austrian deputy resigns amid ongoing bribery case
Wolfgang Duchatczek, the deputy governor of the National Bank of Austria, has resigned after being suspended from his post due to an ongoing bribery case.
One of Duchatczek's lawyers, Herwig Hauser, confirmed the resignation in a letter to the central bank on June 25. In a meeting on June 18, the central bank's governing board decided to suspend Duchatczek due to the legal proceedings.
