A vice-governor of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS), Bojan Marković, today (August 6) resigned following the passage of controversial amendments to the Serbian central bank law.

Marković's resignation follows that of NBS governor Dejan Šoškić, who stepped down on August 2 in a last-ditch effort to disrupt the passage of the legislation. "I hope my resignation will enable the proposers of the law to consider more carefully and analyse the consequences of its adoption," Šoškić said in his letter
