HM The Queen confirms banking ring fence plan

In setting out the government's plans for the year, Her Majesty the Queen today (May 9) cemented the fact that comprehensive banking reform is on the way in the UK.

Delivering her annual speech before both Houses of Parliament, the Queen said: "Measures will be brought forward to further strengthen regulation of the financial services sector and implement the recommendations of the Independent Commission on Banking."
