US regulatory agencies issue new market risk capital rule proposals

On Thursday the US federal bank regulatory agencies announced they are seeking comment on a notice of proposed rule-making concerning new market risk capital rules.

The notice, issued by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Department of the Treasury, the board of governors of the Federal Reserve System and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation amends an earlier proposal, which was released in December 2010.

The initial notice proposed modifications to the agencies' market risk
