IMF concern over ‘critical juncture’ of programme in Greece

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) "strongly disagrees" with those who argue that Greece's economic recovery programme has been "unsuccessful" to date, an official said on Monday.

Bob Traa, the senior IMF resident representative in Athens, Greece, spoke at an Economist Conference in Athens. Acknowledging that the economic programme launched by the Greek government in May 2010 has been subject to much criticism, Traa said it was now at a "critical juncture".
