Policymakers must act together, says Lagarde

International Monetary Fund managing director Christine Lagarde on Tuesday urged policymakers to "act boldly, act together and act now", stressing that the idea of policy options having been exhausted was "wrong" and "could lead to paralysis" in the financial market.

In an opinion piece that was published in the Financial Times, Lagarde praised the global response to the financial crisis in 2008 when "policymakers came together to act with common purpose".
