Ex FSA chair quits as head of LSE
Sir Howard Davies, the former chairman of the UK's Financial Services Authority, has resigned from his post as director of the London School of Economics (LSE) over ties to Libya's Gaddafi regime.
On Thursday the LSE said it had accepted Sir Howard's resignation as director and commissioned an independent external inquiry into the school's relationship with Libya and Saif Gaddafi, the son of Libyan leader Colonel Muammar Gaddafi.
