Sarrazin quits Bundesbank

Thilo Sarrazin, a member of the Bundesbank's executive board, has resigned after other members of the board called for his dismissal from the central bank last week following inflammatory remarks towards immigrants.

The Bundesbank on Thursday said Sarrazin had tendered his resignation to President Christian Wulff and that the central bank would terminate its working relationship with him at the end of the month.

His resignation follows an executive decision last Thursday to remove Sarrazin
