Gudmundsson confident of Icesave deal despite country’s ‘no’ vote

Már Gudmundsson, the governor of the Icelandic central bank, said on Sunday that a deal could be reached with the Netherlands and Britain on the Icesave affair in a matter of weeks.

In remarks confirmed by the central bank, Gudmundsson said at the sidelines of a Bank for International Settlements meeting in Basel, Switzerland that it was "conceivable that there could be a settlement [on Icesave] within one to two weeks if there isn't a backlash from the referendum."
