Argentina to plunder central bank to pay off debt

Buenos Aires plans to dip into the central bank's coffers to repay bondholders, it emerged on Monday.

Argentina's Ministry for Economy and Public Finance on Monday announced the creation of a vehicle to repay government debt funded by 37% of the central bank's "surplus" reserves. The central bank had $47.5 billion in reserves as of early December.
