Polish central bank chief seeks euro entry in 2007

National Bank of Poland President Leszek Balcerowicz told Bloomberg News in a television interview "Our hopes are for 2007" to adopt the euro and it was worth aiming for early adoption.

Polish central bank President Leszek Balcerowicz said the country should aim to swap the zloty for the euro as early as 2007, indicating he'll oppose any widening of the budget deficit.

Poland and the other nine nations set to join the European Union in May must adopt the euro as soon as they meet
