Russian PM proposes central bank restructuring

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov has suggested the Russian central bank consider its restructuring at a government meeting on Thursday.

Sergey Ignatyev, the Russian Central Bank Chairman, stressed that revising the central bank's role and functions was reasonable, according to RBC News.

He said the management of the Russian central bank would consider restructuring. However, this is not an issue of the Russian banking sector as a whole, he added, according to the report.
