
Inflation will remain low - Taiwan governor
Perng Fai-nan, the governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of China (Taiwan), said that central bank strategy had ensured inflation remained low and stable, and that it would continue to do so.
Taiwan's consumer price index has risen by 5% since 2001, and July's inflation statistics reveal that inflation has fallen 0.34% year-on-year.
Perng said: "Compared with other countries, Taiwan's inflation rate is being maintained at a low and steady level."
