Fed planning communication enhancements: reports

The Federal Reserve looks set to bow to political pressure and disclose more details of its various attempts to tackle the crisis, which have led to the central bank's balance sheet more than doubling in size.

Leading news agencies have reported that the Fed may take various steps to disclose more information on its crisis-fighting operations and could conduct press conferences.

Ben Bernanke, the chairman of the Fed, told Congress in February that he had called on his deputy, Don Kohn, to review
