G+D and CPS are ‘most approved’ for banknote sorting
Just over half of survey sample endorses Munich-based manufacturer
Banknote sorting machines made by Germany’s Giesecke+Devrient (G+D) and the UK’s CPS are the most approved by central banks responding to Currency Benchmarks 2020.
Just over half (53%) of the 19 central banks that gave an indication on approval included G+D Banknote Processing Solutions (BPS). The second-most approved machinery, with 37%, was CPS, which was a part of De La Rue until 2016 when it was acquired by Privet Capital.
