Anita Angelovska Bezhoska
Governor, National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia
Anita Angelovska Bezhoska is the governor of the National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia. She was appointed to the role in May 2018, and is the first woman to lead the central bank.
She joined the central bank in 2004 where she worked in a number of positions, including chief economist and vice-governor in charge of monetary policy. Priort to joining the central bank, she worked as an economist for the International Monetary Fund’s European Department. During her career she has also represented the central bank at IMF meetings, and was a member of the Irving Fisher Committee on Central Bank Statistics at the Bank for International Settlements in Basel.
