Caucasus central banks cut rates as inflation falls
Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia continue gradual easing, with Armenian inflation at -0.5%
The central banks of the three south Caucasus states cut interest rates this month, as inflation fell into or below target ranges.
Azerbaijan: The Central Bank of Azerbaijan made its second rate cut this quarter on December 20, reducing the policy rate by 50 basis points to 8%.
In a statement, the central bank’s board said inflation was 2.6% year on year in November. This is the third consecutive month that inflation has been within the central bank’s target range of 4% plus or minus 2%.
