Zeti promotes Islamic finance expansion

Zeti Akhtar Aziz, governor of Bank Negara Malaysia, today (November 27) said the Islamic finance industry stands to benefit from an enhanced universal appeal.

Speaking at a colloquium in Kuala Lumpur, Zeti said this could be achieved in part through developing new products that foster the connection between Islamic finance and real economic activity. This extends to the products' operating models, risk management and supporting infrastructure, she said.
