Bank Indonesia chief says economy strong despite signs of bubbles
The governor of Bank Indonesia, Darmin Nasution, in a speech on November 23, highlighted the rapid pace of GDP growth in Indonesia in recent years, but warned there were signs that credit bubbles could be developing.
Speaking at a meeting of bankers, Nasution said Indonesia had achieved a growth rate of around 6.1% a year for the past eight years, a figure he said was "one of the highest in the world". He added this was supported by inflation on a downward trend, and the "well-proven" resilience
