Finland paper reviews major currency blocs

A discussion paper published by the Bank of Finland on October 15 compares the two major currency blocs in the world, the euro and the US dollar, and considers the equilibrium between the two both now and in the future.

The author, Christoph Fischer, says the US dollar bloc is currently around double the size of the euro bloc, although this would change considerably if China was to de-peg its currency from the dollar.
