IMF-World Bank announces location for 2015 meeting

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group have revealed their annual meetings are to be held in Lima, Peru, in 2015. This will be the first time a Latin American country has hosted the meetings since 1967 when the gathering was held in Rio de Janeiro.

Latin America regained the international spotlight in 2012, as Mexico took over leadership of the G-20. Christine Lagarde, the managing director of the IMF, before a tour of Peru, Mexico and Brazil in November 2011 said others
